Citroen REVOLTe Concept
The French automaker Citroen has unveiled the Revolte concept, city car that combines the upmost luxury with a touch of fashionable fun. The Revolte concept is not very big in size, measuring in at 3.68 meters long, 1.73 meters wide and 1.35 meters tall and features a three seater cabin design.
Citroën is now increasingly looking like it will bring back the 2CV badge after these concept pictures were leaked. The original 2CV came into being in 1949 as a compact, economy car. Previous concept shots of this car, whose name is now officially revealed as the Revolte Concept, appeared on Facebook under the name Nouveau C3 and were later released as official teasers. Speculation began around what exactly it would be and eventually the 2CV was named as a strong possibility.
A vibrant and sophisticated re-chargeable hybrid, Citroën REVOLTe Concept represents a bold vision of the luxury, compact city car of tomorrow, combining confident styling with environmentally responsible technology to create a unique concept for the future of urban transportation.
The Revolte is all about extreme colors and interesting materials, like: woven black leather, thick crimson velvet and gleaming aluminum. Inside of the Revolte you won’t find the conventional materials like the traditional wood offerings and ordinary colors. The cabin incorporates a very contemporary meridian sofa whose flowing lines cover the entire rear area of the concept as well as the space that is typically reserved for the front seat passenger. In this case, the passenger sitting in the third seat can stretch his or her legs and enjoy the sensations offered by the cosy, luxurious ambiance.
The rear window is integrated with the roof and the two blend like one piece of two-tone sheet metal. Tailpipes are not visible but where they would normally be are two air dams separated by what seems like an air diffuser. The interior is very sculptured and futuristic with seats that look like they were plucked out of a Klingon space ship. The front passenger seat actually faces backwards.
With a design philosophy of sophistication and the use of environmentally responsible technology, Citroën REVOLTe Concept’s re-chargeable hybrid power-train features a small-capacity conventional combustion engine combined with an electric motor and a battery re-charging function. Agile and responsive, REVOLTe’s advanced drive-train delivers lively performance suited to the urban environment. Citroën REVOLTe Concept also provides the option of CO2-free driving with the ability to run in all-electric ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) mode.
