Fisherman Saves Injured Dog Found At Sea

Blake Talman, a drunk driver, murdered Donna Chen and injured her dog Barney.

The accident scene was about a mile from where the fisherman found dog swimming. Our guess is that he was so freaked out and traumatized that he just wanted to get as far away from there as possible. And when he ran out of land, he took to the water.

It is a pure luck that Rory O’Connor was there fishing, because there was no place for Barney to go and we don’t know if he could have made it much farther. He’s banged up, but fine. Our hearts go out to the family who lost their mother.

Gorilla Adopts A Pair Of Kittens

Koko, a female western lowland gorilla, was born on July 4, 1971. She is able, according to Francine “Penny” Patterson, to understand more than 1,000 signs based on American Sign Language, and understand approximately 2,000 words of spoken English.

In this video Koko gets a return visit from the two kittens she selected from a litter of seven the week before. She’s tentatively named them “Tiger” and “Blackie” (for obvious reasons). The question is will Koko tire of the kittens or want them to stay as her permanent guests at the Gorilla Foundation. After much playing, enrichment and affection, the answer seems clear. While this does not satisfy Koko’s dearest wish which is to raise a gorilla (or other great ape) baby, it provides a loving experience for gorilla and kittens.

Woman Was Butchered By A Bear While She Was Feeding Him

Veronika Sarcev was brutally butchered yesterday by a bear in a private ZOO called “Trofej” in Serbia. Woman worked there as a waitress and had also had a job of feeding the bear. She entered the cage to feed the bear called Miso and as she was going out, the bear attacked her and tried to pull her into the cage.

Witnesses say that woman was screaming and begging for help, but none could help her. 20 watchers stood while she was eaten alive. Some of them tried to divert the bear, even tried to poke him with a stick, but nothing was helping.

When the police arrived, they shoot him in the head. Ambulance came to late, they could only state death. Veronika worked and fed the bear for three years. She was 59 years old.

Miso already had one attacking, when a boy was injured, but this time, there was no hope for him.

Scientists Finally Prove That Dolphins Speak to Each Other And Whistle Just For Fun

Dolphins have always been attributed with human characteristics. And now scientists have managed to prove that communication between the dolphins is very similar to that of humans. According to Danish scientists dolphins do not make sounds that are the same frequencies, as was thought till now, but are various vibrations very similar to the sounds that are produced by human vocal cords.

Scientists are now working on deciphering the dolphin language.

Whistling is another form of communication that dolphins do, but this is not exactly direct communication, but something they do for fun, like humans do.

Moki, white lab puppy is enjoying the cool comforts of air conditioning. Letting hers ears just flap away on the vent! She moves from vent to vent around the house seeking out cool air. This is probably the best commercial for air conditioning ever. Sponsors, attack!

Stupid US Laws

We all know that laws are in place to protect the people. Just like people, animals need laws to protect them too. But some laws are just too crazy, even for the animals.

In Alabama it’s illegal to open umbrellas because it might spook horses.

In Massachusetts gorillas are not allowed in backseat of any car.

In North Carolina fights between cats and dogs are prohibited.

In Ohio it’s illegal to get a fish drunk.

In Maryland it is a violation of city code to sell chicks or ducklings to a minor within 1 week of the Easter holiday.

Also in Maryland. It is illegal to take a lion to the movies.

In Colorado the dog catcher must notify dogs of impounding by posting, for three consecutive days, a notice on a tree in the city park and along a public road running through said park.

In West Virginia one may not walk a lion, tiger or leopard, even on a leash.

In Ohio it is illegal to walk a cow down Lake Road.

In Georgia it is illegal to carry a chicken by it’s feet down Broadway on Sunday.

Also in Georgia you may not cut off a chicken’s head on Sunday.

In Illinois there is a $1,000 dollar fine for beating rats with baseball bats.

In Massachusetts anyone may let their sheep and cows graze in the public gardens/commons at any time except Sundays.

In California it is illegal to drive more than two thousand sheep down Hollywood Boulevard at one time.

Also in California, animals are banned from mating publicly within 1,500 feet of a tavern, school or place of worship.

So, even animals aren’t immune to some of those stupid US laws.
