We already wrote about Does chocolate prevent stroke? and how. But now, Australian scientists, based on a 2,013 people study, proved that dark chocolate can prevent heart attacks and strokes in high risk patients.
Only the dark chocolate was used in the study. So the results can be attached only to the dark chocolate containing 60 to 70 percent cocoa. Milk and white chocolate weren’t included.
Scientists believe that the flavonoids in the dark chocolate are the ones responsible for the prevention.
Study showed that about 85 (out of 10 000) people prevented having heart attack or stroke by using daily portions of the dark chocolate.
Dubious ones could question this study because of the added sugar and overall caloric intake that can contribute to the hypertension.
