Tyrannosaurus Skeleton Sold For One Million Dollars, But Goverment Stops The Sale
The skeleton of the dinosaur called Tyrannosaurus bataar that lived in Asia 80 million years ago was sold last week for just over one million dollars in New York.
Tyrannosaurus bataar is actually a smaller version of the famous Tyrannosaurus Rex, measuring 8 feet tall and 24 feet long.
Mongolian government hired a U.S. lawyer to stop the auction questioning the ownership of the skeleton.
The skeleton was found in Gobi Desert which is part in China and part in Mongolia.
Interest in this skeleton is even higher if we consider the fact that this skeleton is almost 80% complete while museum skeletons are 50% complete or less.
The sale will not finalize until the court is resolved.
